About Mahamrityunjay Jaap Puja
Maha Mrityunjaya Jaap is the repeated chanting of the Tryambakam mantra from the Rig Veda, dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is performed for an agreed count, for example 11,000, 51,000 or 125,000 chants, by one or more pandits, and is followed by havan.
The mantra is believed to give protection, healing energy and a long, healthy life. Families arrange the jaap when a loved one is unwell, before a major surgery, or on a milestone birthday such as the 60th. It is spiritual support and not a replacement for medical treatment.

Sankalp
The resolve is taken with the name and gotra of the person for whom the jaap is done.
Ganesh, Kalash and Shiva Puja
Ganesh is worshipped, a kalash installed and Lord Shiva invoked.
Mantra Jaap
The Maha Mrityunjaya mantra is chanted on a rudraksha mala for the agreed count.
Dashamsh Havan
A havan is performed with offerings equal to one tenth of the jaap count.
Purnahuti and Aarti
The final offering is made, followed by Shiva aarti.
Prasad and Daan
Prasad is shared, and Brahmin bhojan or charity can be added.

How long do 125,000 chants take?
A full count of 125,000 chants is usually spread over several days. Smaller counts such as 11,000 or 21,000 can be completed in a day. I will suggest a plan that matches your timeline.
